Instructor: Christos Marcopoulos

The project began with the study of Toronto’s freight and goods movement network - a prevalent system that is hidden in plain sight. This led to the site of Mt. Dennis, a light industrial fabric along the city’s highly anticipated Eglinton LRT.

The project studies the cross between freight movement and everyday life, as well as between industry and home to form unique typological hybrids. The final design is a residential tower which revolves around a central freight atrium designed for creatives and desktop manufacturers, giving individuals the power and facility to establish their own local economy.
